Theaim of thestudywasthe production ofceramicSiO2nanowires usingthe sol-gel andelectrospinningmethods from solution of PVP/TEOS/AcOH/EtOH. Theobtained fibrousmats wassubjected to preliminarydrying at roomtemperature and next was subjected thecalcinationprocess in airto obtain pureamorphous silicon dioxide nanowires.Analysis of themorphologyandchemical composition ofthe resultingnanowireswascarried out usingascanningelectronmicroscope (SEM) with energydispersivespectrometer (EDS).In order toanalyze the structureof the obtainedmaterials wereusedhigh-resolution transmissionelectronmicroscope (TEM) and X-raydiffractionanalysis (XRD). The analysis of the opticalpropertiesand theenergybandgap of preparednanowireswasdeterminedbyspectralanalysisof theabsorbancein the function oftheenergyof radiationobtained using aUV-Visspectrophotometer.
